This saber combines a heavy Olympic saber blade (the so-called Hungarian saber blade) with a historically inspired steel bell. The bells and blades are produced according to my specifications in cooperation with Uhlmann Fencing. The saber's dynamics are similar to those of historical training sabers from the second half of the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century.
The saber bell is made of 2mm sheet steel. The blade has a triangular cross-section and tapers from the bell to the tip, so it only bends in the last third when thrusting. The tang of the blade has the same dimensions as Olympic blades, which makes our modular construction possible. This heavy version of an Olympic blade has the same secure flexibility when thrusting and cutting as FIE blades, but is very stiff and robust in the lower two thirds of the blade.
Especially in free combat and competition, this training weapon is not only safe, but also a lot of fun, as it allows you to fence with full intention using little protective equipment.
Proper use of the blades for competitive fencing is essential. Blade breakages can only be claimed if there is evidence of a material defect within the first four weeks of use.
