Recommendations for caring for fencing clothing
What armor is for a knight and a uniform for a soldier, fencing clothing is for us fencers.
Our fencing jackets and trousers are high-end products designed to protect you. In order to ensure optimal protection, they must of course be cared for and treated with care. By looking good and wearing well-maintained equipment, we show our professionalism to other fencers and also to the other person before the fight.
Above all, your safety is important to us. We would therefore like to give you some care instructions here. Our fencing clothing is made from the highest quality materials. Nevertheless, every material wears out. In order to maintain this quality for as long as possible, the equipment must be treated properly and with care. Therefore, the following help and information, which, by the way, should not only apply to our products, but is generally applicable.
Protects the surfaces of the jackets from unnecessary mechanical influences from the outside. Don't just throw the jackets and pants on the floor or push them with your feet. Always hang your jackets neatly on a hanger or hook or over the back of a chair. Store them dry in a closet or bag. Make sure you store, store and transport them separately from your blades or other hard and potentially jagged equipment.
Always close the Velcro fasteners so that they do not unnecessarily damage the surfaces. We recommend transporting the clothing in a separate laundry bag so that it is protected from Velcro fasteners on other equipment.
It is also important that your blades and handles are always free of nicks and sharp edges and corners. Blades in particular can cause serious damage to fencing equipment if they cause nicks. Especially if they are used carelessly in combat or training, we cause unnecessary damage to the clothing of our fellow fighters. If everyone sticks to caring for their fencing equipment, then we will all protect each other. We not only bear responsibility for ourselves, but also for our fellow fencers!
Our St. George jacket and trousers are particularly suitable for washing in washing machines. Please follow the instructions on the labels and the instructions for use. The clothing is not suitable for tumble drying or dry cleaning.
If you treat the equipment with care and care, it will serve you best. And also reflect your experience and professionalism to the outside world.
