Recommendations for the care of fencing clothing

What the knight has his armor and the soldier his battle uniform, that is the fencing outfit for us fencers.

Our fencing jackets and pants are high-end products that have been developed to protect you. In order to ensure optimal protection, they must of course be cared for and treated with care. By a good appearance with well-kept equipment we show other fencers and before the fight also the opposite our professionalism.

Your safety is especially important to us. Therefore we would like to give you some care instructions. Our fencing clothing consists of materials of the highest quality. Nevertheless every material wears out. In order to maintain this quality for as long as possible, the equipment must be treated properly and with care. Therefore we would like to give you the following hints and tips, which by the way are not only valid for our products but for everyone.

Protect the surfaces of the jackets from unnecessary mechanical impact from the outside. Do not simply throw your jackets and trousers on the floor or push them with your feet. Always hang your jackets neatly on a hanger or hook or over the back of a chair. Store them dry in a cupboard or bag. Make sure you store, keep, and transport them separately from your blades or other hard and potentially jagged equipment.

Always close the Velcro fasteners so that they do not damage the surfaces unnecessarily. We recommend transporting the clothing in a separate laundry bag so that it is also protected from Velcro fasteners on other equipment.

It is also important that your blades and hilt are always free of nicks and sharp edges and corners. Especially the blades can cause a lot of damage to fencing equipment. Especially if they are used unkempt in combat or training, we damage the clothes of our fellow fencers unnecessarily. If everyone sticks to taking care of their fencing equipment, we all protect each other. We are not only responsible for ourselves, but also for our fellow fencers!

Our St. George jacket and trousers are especially suitable for washing in washing machines. Please follow the instructions on the labels and in the instructions for use. The clothes are not suitable for the dryer and not for dry cleaning.

If you treat the equipment with care and attention, it will serve you well. And it will also reflect your experience and professionalism to the outside world.
